2003 Results
The inaugural installment of the Session, 2003 was an exciting year for both the Session and Vail. Strategically scheduled one week after the U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix in Breckenridge and 10 days before the ESPN X-Games, we were able to generate a great buzz and get people super excited for this first-time event.
After his third-place Super Slopestyle finish in 2003, Max Henault called the inaugural Session course, “the best course we have ridden so far this year.”
The first two-hour Steel & Sky rail session featured a daunting down-kink, a wider, staircase rail and a swing set-style rainbow rail which Travis Rice dramatically won with his “creeper 50-50 to stop-dead nollie front flip.”
